I Hate Multiplication: If You Can Count, You Can Multiply

Not having a mastery of multiplication facts has a domino effect in passing the Georgia Milestones and the world of mathematics in general. Students have issues with division, which led to problems with fractions, solving equations in algebra, positive and negative numbers, decimals, and other concepts.

Step by step math instruction to level up your student’s Math Game; Make the Hard Easy

Closing the multiplication gap starts that process of recreating your student’s math skills and performance in class

As an online 5th grade math tutor I’ve learned that multiplication is a big issue. Not having a mastery of multiplication facts has a domino effect in passing the Georgia Milestones and the world of mathematics in general. Students have issues with division, which led to problems with fractions, solving equations in algebra, positive and negative numbers, decimals, and other concepts.

I told my 5th-grade math student that we would start learning multiplication facts, she put up a fight. She said that she did not like multiplication and that it was too hard. Nothing in life is easy. Something is wrong if it is too easy. But look at her after a few weeks with MATH Athletics Online Tutoring.

What made the change? First, one-to-one attention. Second, I modeled more than one way to find a solution. Lastly, we played games, drew, and had discussions where she did not know she was learning. Teachers work hard with what they have, but the truth is that sometimes there is always that one student out of thirty who needs more than 15 minutes of one-to-one instruction. Everyone can learn when given ample time and attention.
